1. Cristiano Ronaldo never won the golden boy award;. Despite being eligible when the first award was given and also being eligible when the second, third and fourth one was given out, he never won the award which is given to a young footballer playing in Europe under the age of 21 who is perceived to be the most impressive during a calendar year. However, Ronaldo’s arch rival Lionel Messi won the award in 2005 and Ronaldo’s Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney also won the award in 2004.
#2. Cristiano Ronaldo has African roots;. According to Ronaldo’s Wikipedia profile, Ronaldo’s African roots came from his great grand mother from his father’s side Isabele da Piedade who is from the island of Sao Vicente in Cape Verde.
